Team Building Activity: Face the Facts

Face the Facts

This activity allows team members who work virtually or on different shifts to get to know each other.  It works well with any team size and requires about an hour or so to set up.  You will need to have on hand your phone camera, bulletin board (real or virtual), index cards, ballots and a prize.

You will want to use a room with a centrally located bulletin board. Ask each team member for a recent picture or take a picture of each team member. In addition, ask each team member for three unknown or little-known facts about themselves that they are willing to share with their teammates.

Edit the facts for grammar or obvious identifying characteristics, and then write the facts on an index card. Post the pictures on one side of a bulletin board, and the cards on the other side, NOT in the same order. Label the pictures A, B, C… and the facts 1, 2, 3….

Tell the team it has a set amount of time (e.g., one month) to match correctly the pictures (the letters) with the facts (the numbers). Instruct the team members to submit the results on a “ballot” or use email if working virtually.

Award prizes to the first three members who successfully complete this activity.
